February was nothing short of amazing! Seeing the number of app users increase at the current rate is just incredible to see, but we’ll get to that later on!

The Winners of the 2-Week-Challenge! 🎉

Ok, so maybe a short recap of the 2-Week-Challenge!

From Feb 5th to Feb 19th, your measurements became Raffle Entries! You had the opportunity to increase your chance to win from a pool of $500!

What was the task?
👉️ Collect as many Raffle Tickets as possible during these 2 weeks!

Wen wen wen?
👉️ The 2-Week Challenge started Feb 5th, 1pm CET and was active until Feb 19th, 1pm CET!

How you collected Raffle Tickets and participated?
👉️ For 100 “Hexagons Covered” you were granted 1 Raffle Ticket
👉️ For each “Venue Check-In” you were granted 1 Raffle Ticket

You had to collect a minimum of 10 Raffle Tickets to be eligible for the prize draw!

So… who are the winners?

In total, more than 200.000 Raffle Tickets were created! Remember, this only includes users who created more than 10 Raffle Tickets.

The winners were drawn live on Monday 26.02, in our Discord! We took a few days to thoroughly check the validity of the winners measurements for the duration of the challenge. This is why they are announced officially just now!

$1m Pre-Seed Round Closed 🤑

On the 18th of February, we were able to announce the closing of our $1M Pre-Seed Funding Round, led by Borderless Capital to build the world's largest Noise Level Data Bank.

The investment is supported by Moonrock Capital, MV Global, and Cogitent Ventures and will be fueling our growth, enhance data integrity, and foster strategic partnerships.

This investment marks a significant milestone for us as we set out to redefine data coverage through the integration of peaq, the L1 blockchain for real-world applications and DePINs!

Growth, growth, growth! From 80k to 150k 🤯

You guys are killing it! The growth we’ve seen in the last weeks has been nothing short but amazing!

Only on February 20th, we were able to announce that we broke through 100k sensors and now, just a mere two weeks later, we’re already at 150k!

Now, we must mention how incredibly excited we are about this amazing growth. This immense growth has however exceeded our growth-assumptions!

On the 25th of February alone, more hexes were covered than in the whole week before. As you can imagine, our servers are at their max! Currently, the Silencio community is covering an area 10x the size of Paris! We know that some of you are experiencing downtimes in the app or delayed capacities.

While we’re in the process of upscaling our servers, we kindly ask for some patience.

As said, we are working heavily on ensuring that our capacities match the need but this isn't done with the snap of a finger, so give us a bit of time until everything is back to running stable and smoothly!

Decentralizing Infrastructure: How DePINs are Changing the Game📖 

Last week, we published an Article on our new Silencio Medium and our LinkedIn! This article is focused on the concept of #DePIN and how we use it to combat noise pollution, turning blockchain tech into a tool for environmental change and making the world a quieter place!

New App-Update is live! 👀

Yupppp, the new App is live and there is quite a bit to unpack! So let's dive in!

1. Measurement time increased to 30 min ⌛️ 
Pretty simple and straightforward! We increased the maximum measurement time from 20 minutes to 30 minutes! More time to measure for you!

2. Wallet - click on profiles 🕵️ 
If you have Referrals, you can now click on their profiles from your wallet and see their stats directly. Just a simpler way to check on how active your referrals are!

3. Map - Check-Ins 🗺️ 
To enable you to check whether the Venue you want to check-in is available in our database, we included the venues in the search bar of the map. So now, you can check this before doing a measurement!

4. Referrals increased to 5% 🤝 
We increased the referral reward from 3% to 5%. This way we are incentivizing the use of your network even more and to make you spread the word. This will be valid also for old referrals and we are currently doing the calculations, so give us a few days until this is displayed in your profile!

5. "Sensors" instead of "Members" 🤖 
We are a DePIN-project. And as such, we rely upon our contributors to run a decentralized infrastructure which is in our case is based upon sensor-based data measurements. While at the moment, the only available sensor type you can use to conduct measurements is your smartphone, this will change in the future. Think of wearables such as your smartwatch or earplugs such as AirPods or others. This will naturally lead to the effect, that one user can contribute with several sensors.

So it just makes much more sense to provide the information on the number of “Sensors” in our network than the number of “Members”.

6. Developer Mode restriction ❌ 
Only relevant if you are experiencing issues:
With our new update we released another security measure which allows us to detect and disable measurements with GPS-Spoofing. Therefore, you have to turn off the developer mode on your phone. In order for us to make sure all kinds of GPS Spoofing are disabled we require our users to turn off Developer mode completely.

We know that some of you have to be able to use developer mode in the future as well! Therefore, our devs are looking into other potential options on how to avoid GPS-spoofing. For now, turning off developer mode is the only option to be on the safe side!

7. Streak activation for 36h ✅ 
We increased the timeframe to maintain your streaks to 36h. This will give you more time to continue your streak and not loose it! Regardless of this, Coins will increase every 24 hours only! So this will remain the same.
